Study on production technology of niobium-tantalum-tungsten alloy strip
C103 alloy is a kind of high strength, high heat resistance material. It is based on niobium, with tantalum and tungsten as the addition elements. The alloy is processed by bombardment with strips as raw material. Therefore, the uniform distribution of Ta and W and the content of gas impurities C and O in Nb-Ta-W alloy bar are strictly required. In particular, the sampling site is different from the first stage niobium strip. This makes production control more difficult.
(1) Nb-Ta-W alloy bar can be obtained by means of powder metallurgy to meet the requirements of users.
(2) The uniform distribution of Ta and W is better when Nb-Ta intermediate alloy powder and W powder are used to prepare the alloy strip.
(3) This process has strong adaptability to the content of C and O in raw materials. The metal powder with high oxygen and low carbon, or high carbon and low oxygen, is deoxidized by NbC or Nb2O5, respectively. However, the O/C ratio should be controlled within 1.6~2.0 to obtain qualified products.
(4) For C and O control of end sampling, a satisfactory effect can be achieved by raising the position of the crucible in the heating belt.
