Application of titanium in chemical industry

The main application fields of titanium in chemical industry are as follows:
1. Chlor-alkali industry
Titanium in the earliest chemical industry, the largest user is the chlor-alkali industry. This includes the production of chlorine gas, chlorine oxides, pesticides, drifter powder, etc. In the production of chlorine, titanium equipment and pipes account for almost a quarter of its total mass. Such as used in metal anode electrolyzer, ion membrane electrolyzer and anodic liquid pump, tubular wet chlorine cooler, chlorine waste water dechlorination tower, chlorine cooling washing tower, refined brine preheater, vacuum dechlorination pump and valve, etc.

2. Soda industry
In the production of soda, titanium material is mainly used for crystallizing outer cooler, ammonia condenser on the top of distillation tower, ammonium chloride mother liquor heater, plate heat exchanger, umbrella plate heat exchanger, carbonization tower cooling pipe, carbon dioxide turbine compressor rotor impeller, alkali pump and so on.

3. Vacuum salt industry
Titanium ammonia evaporator, titanium preheater, titanium precooler, titanium flange, titanium tube plate, titanium pump shell and titanium elbow.

4. Petrochemical fiber
At present, no matter imported from abroad, or domestic design and manufacture of polyester, nylon, vinylon and other petrochemical fiber enterprises have used some titanium equipment. The application of titanium equipment has played a positive role in the development of China's chemical fiber production, especially in safe and stable production, improving product quality, preventing premature corrosion failure of stainless steel, improving the service life of equipment, reducing parking and maintenance, and improving comprehensive economic benefits.

5. Fine chemicals
The industrial raw material of epoxy propane unit is highly corrosive medium. The two main raw materials used in PO production are liquid chlorine and propylene. These highly corrosive media lay the foundation for the corrosion of the pipes of PO production equipment. Under such technological conditions, metals such as carbon steel, Al, Cu, Ni and stainless steel cannot resist corrosion, and titanium is the ideal anticorrosive metal material.

6. Inorganic salt industry
Inorganic salts mainly include chlorate and potassium salts. Domestic sodium chlorate production has developed rapidly in the past two years, with the total production capacity breaking through 1 million tons, and about 500,000 tons in the expansion or preliminary work. Titanium chlorate manufacturing equipment mainly includes electrolytic cell, titanium anode, reaction generator, evaporator and so on. About 15T of titanium material is needed for every 10,000 tons of sodium chlorate.

Potassium salt products include potassium chloride, potassium sulfate, potassium nitrate, potassium carbonate, etc. At present, the total production capacity of potassium nitrate and potassium carbonate in China is about 600,000 tons. Titanium equipment is required for evaporators, preheating tanks and coolers in the production of potassium nitrate and potassium carbonate.

7. Other industries
Titanium dioxide titanium material for film concentrator, calcining kiln feed pipe, centrifugal distribution plate, etc.

Urea titanium material is used for urea synthesis tower lining, ammonia stripper, general decomposition tower heater, methylamine pump inlet, discharge valve and spring, high pressure mixer, etc.

Dye titanium material is used for snake tube heat exchanger, absorber, purification tower nozzle, fan, water ring vacuum pump, filter, etc.

Titanium nitrate material is used for nitric acid evaporator, nitrogen oxide tail gas preheater, nitric acid steam preheater, gas scrubber, rapid cooler, condenser, turbine blower, pump, valve, pipe, etc.
