Study on oxidation resistance coating of niobium alloy in aviation

With the continuous improvement of aerospace engine technology, the demand for new anti-oxidation coatings is becoming more and more urgent. Various research institutes have also done a lot of research work on new anti-oxidation coatings. The arc deposition technology introduced from Ukraine in 703 Institute has realized the localization of MoSi2 coating. When used in combination with niobium-tungsten alloy, it can be effectively tested at 1800℃ for 10-20h, and the test temperature is 1561-1660℃, which effectively improves the service temperature of niobium-tungsten alloy. Central South University and other institutions have carried out in-depth research on the composite silicide coating, using W, Al, Y2O3 to modify the Si-Cr-Ti coating, and analyzed the high temperature oxidation behavior and action mechanism of the modified coating. In recent years, ningxia Dongfang tantalum industry has done a lot of research on the preparation of composite silicide coating by means of laminated melting sintering, and the experimental verification of the strengthening effect of ceramic on silicide coating has been carried out. Through repeated tests, the static oxidation resistance life at 1800℃ has reached more than 10h, and the air-cooling and thermal shock cycle performance at 1700℃ to room temperature has reached more than 500 times, and the thermal structure of an aircraft engine has passed the assessment at 1750℃
