Tantalum niobium alloy and tantalum niobium alloy introduction

Tantalum niobium alloy is an alloy based on tantalum and niobium.
There are two types: corrosion resistant and capacitor type. The former is mainly KB141(37.5% Nb, 2.5% W, 2.0% Mo, residual tantalum), Ta-3Nb and so on.The latter mainly include Ta-25Nb, Ta-10Nb and so on.

KB141 alloy has excellent low temperature ductility, tensile strength of 517GPa, strong corrosion resistance, such as in 20% hydrochloric acid corrosion rate of only 2.5μm/a. Tantalum-niobium alloys are mainly used in the chemical industry. The leakage current of Ta-25Nb alloy is only 0.133μA/cm2, which is used as thin film electrolytic capacitor. It is produced by powder metallurgy.

Niobium zirconium alloy is a binary alloy composed of zirconium and niobium. Its basic composition is Zr-1% Nb and Zr-2.5Nb %.

Niobium zirconium alloy has good corrosion resistance to acid, alkali and salt.

Niobium zirconium alloy has good corrosion resistance and mechanical properties for 300 ~ 400℃ high temperature and high pressure water and steam.

The most outstanding feature of niobium zirconium alloy is that the new oxide film with protective ability can grow at the peeling place of oxide film without obvious corrosion turning point.

Tensile strength 84MPa, yield strength 78MPa, elongation 15%.

It is made by consumable electrode smelting process.

Niobium zirconium alloy is used as cladding material for heavy water reactors, nuclear power plants and submarine reactors.
