Application of Ti-6Al-4V(Ti Grade 5) titanium alloy rod in petroleum refining industry

In most inorganic salts, Ti-6Al-4V(Ti Grade 5) titanium rods are completely inert and have excellent corrosion resistance. For example, in the production of electrolytic MnO2, the electrolyte is a neutral MnSO4 solution, which requires the electrode to be resistant to sulfate corrosion, and the telegraph made of lead alloy and graphite is not effective.

Ti-6Al-4V(Ti Grade 5) titanium rods have excellent corrosion resistance in almost all organic acids and organic media (except formic acid and oxalic acid). In addition to methanol, titanium is also corrosion resistant to organic alcohols, aldehydes and ketones. For example, in the petrochemical industry, acetaldehyde is used to produce acetic acid. Because acetic acid, acetaldehyde, chloride and catalyst are seriously corroded to stainless steel equipment, titanium material is used to solve the corrosion problem of equipment in acetic acid production. For example, to make acetone from propylene, you can also use titanium production equipment, Japan built an annual output of 30,000 tons of acetone factory, with nearly 40 tons of titanium.

Finally, Ti-6Al-4V(Ti Grade 5) titanium rods are corrosion resistant to wet H2S gas, wet SO4 gas, ammonia and industrial atmospheres (titanium in small hydrogen-containing media and pure oxygen should be particularly careful). For example, in the oil refining industry, the equipment is mostly corroded by H2S, NH8, sulfide, chloride, and the use of titanium equipment can solve the corrosion problem. In petroleum refining, titanium is mainly used in distillation towers, condensers, air coolers and other equipment. Titanium is an ideal corrosion resistant material in the production of synthetic ammonia and urea. In addition, the corrosion of industrial atmosphere will be encountered in the coking production, and there are many examples of its use.
