TC4 titanium rod, TC4 titanium alloy rod and other titanium alloy characteristics

TC4 titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V is the earliest and most widely developed titanium alloy in the world. It accounts for more than half of all semi-finished titanium alloys in the world and more than 80% in the aerospace industry. Al improves the room temperature strength and thermal strength of the alloy by strengthening α phase by solution, while V improves both strength and ductility. V can also inhibit the formation of α2 superstructure phase and avoid the embrittlement of alloy during long-term use. The main characteristics of TC4 titanium alloy are excellent comprehensive performance and good process characteristics. It also has excellent superplasticity and is suitable for forming by various pressure processing methods and welding by various ways.

The main semi-finished forms of TC4 titanium alloy are bars, forgings, sheets, thick plates, profiles and wires, etc. The alloy is mainly used in annealing state, and can also be strengthened by solution aging. However, the quenched cross section is not more than 25 ~ 30mm, so solution aging strengthening is not suitable for thick parts. At present, there are many variants of Ti-6Al-4V titanium alloy in various countries according to different use conditions and process requirements. The main differences are different Al and V contents and lower gap element impurities content, as well as Ti-6Al-4V alloy with trace Ru.

TC4 titanium alloy is mainly used in aerospace to manufacture various beams, frames, slides, landing gear beams in aircraft structures, aero-engine fans and compressor plates, blades, aerospace rocket shells, pressure vessels and various types of fasteners. Using TC4 titanium alloy instead of 30CrMnSiA structural steel can reduce the weight of parts by about 30%.

TC4 titanium alloy has also been widely used in civil industry. For example, gas turbine blade in electric power industry, ship propeller in shipbuilding industry, offshore oil drilling platform in Marine engineering, various corrosion resistant pumps in chemical industry, artificial implants in medicine, various sports equipment and so on.

TC4 titanium alloy can be used to manufacture automotive frames, crank shafts, connecting rods, bolts, intake valves and suspension springs. Similar brands are:
