Titanium equipment commonly produced in petroleum machinery processing
Under the conditions of petroleum mechanical processing, titanium alloys have been used to manufacture the following titanium equipment: titanium heat exchangers, filters (sedimentators), storage tanks for petroleum and petroleum products, locking devices, sewage pipelines and rough oil pipelines.
Some petrochemical enterprises and petroleum processing industries have manufacturing and application experience with titanium alloy equipment. For example, the Moscow Oil Processing Plant manufactured the following equipment using the BT1-0 grade titanium alloy: acrylonitrile polymerization reactors, pulse devices for decomposition reactors, condensers, washing and screening towers.
For evaporation (concentration) or distillation or reactions in weak acids or other solutions containing chlorides, containers with titanium linings can be used. Subsequently, containers for using nitric acid to nitride organic materials and for chemical reactions with other oxidizing media can also use containers with titanium linings. Solutions containing chromic acid and chromic acid solutions for sulfidation can be selected based on the reaction temperature requirements for such containers with titanium linings.
In a certain application range within the chemical raw material industry, it has been confirmed that in the catalytic oxidation conditions of carbon-chlorine compounds using copper and other gaseous solutions, it can be used as a catalyst when the pH value is determined. Then, at a temperature of approximately 150-200°C for catalysis, corresponding equipment must be set up. The widely used equipment for acetaldehyde production by titanium is made of engineering pure titanium. Towers, pipelines, valves and acid pumps using titanium as liners are all made of titanium. Distillation towers are often used for acid purification, and most assembly components in the fractionation stages are made of titanium. Such as the middle layer of the tower and connecting parts used in the distillation device.
The spiral tube heater can prevent the formation of metal sulfates. After testing, the heat conduction increases by 30% compared to the aluminum-coated copper spiral tube heater. For urea reactors, to obtain (recover) carbon black and to eliminate stress, a reaction tower with a diameter of 43m and a length of 8.2m, which can withstand a temperature of 120°C and a pressure of 130kPa, is required. This reactor needs to reduce the pressure of gases and other various gases. This equipment is made of titanium.
The application field of titanium has further expanded to the crude oil and petroleum processing industries. Desalination equipment for obtaining fresh water or drinking water from seawater or other equipment for producing organic acids also use titanium. At the same time, pumps, conduits and heat exchangers made by welding titanium pipes have been tested and proven to be reliable and durable. Titanium plates are used to manufacture cathode plates for electrolysis of copper.
